Binary predicates define relationships between keywords. Each binary predicate is viewed as function: given the value of the first argument, it returns the set of values for the second argument that would make the predicate true. [Feldman and Hirsh 1996: 344] BinaryPredicators are the class of syntactic words that require two arguments.
